Dave Schreiber
Afternoon Show, Production Director
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Dave lived in Kentucky, Texas, Missouri and Iowa before coming to Arizona to Radio Shine from KGRN AM in Grinnell, Iowa, where he served as program director and also did production, news and color commentary at sporting events. He started in radio in 2004 and received much of his training in production and sound by working as an audio engineer and lead guitarist while traveling with bands all over the country as well as attending the Broadcast Center in St. Louis, Mo. Dave loves the sunny weather, friendly people and all the opportunities to be outdoors. In addition to working at Radio Shine Dave also plays guitar for local Christian artist Covenant 31. He has two cats, Hunter and Abigail and his favorite verses are Psalm 33:4 and Jeremiah 29:11.

Dan Young
Morning show, Music & Programming Director
Dan began his radio career in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Since then, he’s worked at stations across the nation in Christian, Rock, Alternative, Country, Classic Rock, Talk and Adult Contemporary formats. He was recently honored as one of the ’30 Under 30′ up-and-coming broadcasters by Edison Research, and was a finalist as ‘Music Director of the Year’ by the Christian Music Broadcasters Association. Dan lives in Prescott Valley with his wife, Debra, and their young son Joshua.

Sally Barton
Station Manager
Sally’s professional media ministry career began over 20 years ago. She has served as a nationally-syndicated Christian radio program creator, producer, host and client spokesperson. Through the years she has forged relationships with America’s influential Christian leaders. Sally speaks at Women’s events, communicating a message of hope, joy and peace that can be found by trusting in our Lord. She states, “Life is a great adventure and knowing that He guides our days and satisfies our needs is a great comfort and source of strength.” Sally and her husband, Roger, have a daughter & son-in-law and son & daughter-in-law and 6 beautiful grandchildren. Sally’s great joy is her role as wife, mom and grandma.

Kelly Blackwell
Front Desk, Kelly’s Thrifty Tips
Kelly was raised by extensive US travelers. Her favorite journey was a graduation gift from her father where they drove and camped across the country all summer long! She has worked as a secretary for the Dean of Students at the Community College of Rhode Island, as a dental records tech, as a movie extra and more. At Radio Shine you will find her at the front desk answering the phone, taking prayer requests, and helping listeners with song questions. Kelly was a single mom for 12 years which helped her learn how to become extra thrifty. Kelly shares these lessons and tips on Thursdays during the First Light Morning Show with Dave.

Nancy Smerdell
Community Outreach Director
Moving from the Hawaiian islands to Prescott in 2010, Nancy immediately dialed in as a volunteer to the local Christian radio station, Radio Shine, bringing with her over 35 years business experience. She had worked in the computer industry, banking and most recently managing a wholesale company for 24 years in Hawaii—all the time with her heart’s desire to be part of a ministry dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nancy joined the staff in January 2012 as Community Outreach Director, working hand in hand with the Friends of Radio Shine, our valued volunteers, as together they facilitated Radio Shine events. Nancy and her husband Jim have six children and eight beautiful grandchildren.

Virginia Rayner
Donor Relations, Prayer Ministry
Virginia is the middle daughter of the son of a Southern Presbyterian Pastor and a former nursing nun of German descent. An ASU graduate, Virginia began her eclectic career path as a high school English and American Lit instructor, moving on to chief editor of a west Phoenix newspaper, and later became the administrator of a national Native American magazine affiliated with the Smithsonian. She owned, with her son and daughter-in-law, a jazz club/café at Estrella Mountain Ranch and while working on a Masters Degree in Psychosocial Rehabilitation at U of A, Virginia was hired by the University to work with men and women diagnosed with serious mental illness. She and her husband Dave moved to Prescott, and Virginia happily joined the staff at Radio Shine six years ago. She is the mom of John (Shelby) and Kris (Gary), grandmother to Zoe and Zefea, Matthew and Jared.

Marcia Montgomery
Financial Coordinator
Marcia is a baby boomer! She completed high school, no college, but has lots of on-the-job training and education, which is what she says “they did way back then.” Marcia has been an elementary school teacher’s aide, packed sea rations during the Vietnam war, worked as a long distant telephone operator for Ma-Bell and as a mortgage banking home loan processor/ teacher, and now serves as a pastor’s wife and financial coordinator for Radio Shine. Marcia processes all the bills, orders supplies, and inputs into the computer all donations from donors and business underwriters, along with scheduling all traffic agreement spots. She says her major talent is focused detail in all she does and that her personality reflects her talent!

Barbara Kling
Receptionist
Barbara is originally from Orange County, CA. She has worked as a secretary in aerospace, as secretary to her State Legislator, and lastly as Exec Secretary to a patent and trademark attorney in Newport Beach prior to retiring here in PV. She originally started as a volunteer at Radio Shine, then was asked if she would join the team as a part time receptionist. She is the mother of Greg(daughter-in-law Lesley) and grandmother to Hayley and Adam. She has also been married to her wonderful husband and friend for 50 years.

Daniel White
Information Technology & Engineering
Daniel has worked in radio his whole life. Learning from his father, Daniel began as a board operator at the age of 8 and took a particular interest in early radio automation, production and traffic systems. He studied computer science in college and went on to start a computer network and consulting firm in Indiana. In 2007 Daniel was given the opportunity to go back to his life long love of radio and jumped at the chance to join the Radio Shine team.

Jaye Lene Long
Underwriting Representative
Jaye Lene Long’s life-long love of Christian music, commitment to the station and more than 25 years experience in sales, marketing, and promotions combine to make her current position at Radio Shine the job of her dreams. Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, Jaye Lene was a single mom for 15 years and raised four boys, three of whom are currently serving in the military. She married David, “the best husband ever,” in February, 2009, gaining a daughter, and then a daughter-in-law from her eldest son’s marriage. With boundless energy and passion to reach the hurting and lost for Jesus Christ, David and Jaye Lene serve in many area ministries, including the Celebrate Recovery ministry at Heights Church. Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:28. Look it up!

Micah White
Underwriting Representative
Micah started working for Christian radio in Indianapolis during High School. The Word of Christ taught through radio programs had a profound impact on his life to spread the Truth. After following his passion for the game of Football while in college, Micah became involved with Campus Outreach to build laborers on the college campus through evangelism and discipleship. He earned his degree in Marketing and Communications in 2007 and came to Arizona to play in the AIFA.
Micah joined the Radio Shine team in 2008.

Joel Berenbrock
Operations Assistant
Joel and his dad Dale began rebuilding computers as a hobby, and the preteen learned computers…from printer/software installation to network upgrade to computer disassembly and rebuild. A hobby as an 11-year-old has become Joel’s calling at Radio Shine. Working with Radio Shine’s IT Specialist/Engineer Daniel White, Joel has honed his computer skills and developed proficiency in radio automation and traffic. Born in Tucson to Dale and Donna Berenbrock, Joel moved to Prescott as a six-year-old. He began volunteering at Radio Shine at 13, became an intern at 15, and as a recent high school graduate joined the staff. His favorite verse is Joel 2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand.
