Oklahoma Grief

Oklahoma 05-21-13The reports and photographs depicting the Oklahoma tornado are devastating.  Knowing many of us, as Arizonans, have Midwest roots we are touched personally by this tragedy.  We remember storms we have ridden out and the fear we felt as the power of a mid-west storm rolled over us and immediately we feel just a bit of their pain.

Our hearts break at the images of those grieving and suffering loss.  Encouragement follows as images emerge of a caring community pulling together to do all they can for each other.  The question we ask is what can we do from here?  We can do the most powerful – we can pray – leaning on The Truth of Psalms 34: 18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

I pray when you turn to Radio Shine you find the hope of Jesus and a hug from your Radio Shine family.  We make a helpful resource available to you, thanks to Focus on the Family: “Parenting in the Midst of Tragedy.” May God bless you and keep you in His peace.   – Sally Barton, Radio Shine Station Manager
